My Perfect Manhattan

Some of you may know that my drink of choice is a Manhattan. I doubt any of you know that there once was actually a Manhattan glass, which looked like a narrow martini glass. After about a year of looking, I finally found something approximating a true Manhattan, and all for $14 for a set of 5. Hooray ebay! (and ignorant estate sale urchins!) (Tip: look for...
odd number sets of glasses for a discount on ebay. Only need four? look for five! Now you have a replacement for when I drop it next time we hang out.)

A True Manhattan:
- 2 1/2 parts bourbon (I prefer Maker's for this, even over my sweetheart Hirsch)
- 1/2  part sweet vermouth (anything other than Carpano Antica formula is blasphemy)
- 2+ dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters (3 is better than 2)

stir, stir, stir, stir until cold, double strain into your martini perfect Manhattan glass. Garnish with 1 skewered brandied cherry (maraschino cherries will do in a pinch...I was in a pinch.) Imbibe with (extreme) pleasure.
