I limited myself to eating only a few of these myself, leaving the rest for work and my new-found taste-test lab. After watching the dozen or so full sized scones vanish last time I brought scones to work, I turned the 8 full sized scones into 32 mini scones. They lasted more than a couple hours this time at least.

Pumpkin Spice Scones
I told you I was going to make more scones. Also, this brief sting of sub triple digit heat has made it seem like fall is here, and thus pumpkin is going to start making its way into everything I bake. Mmmm pumpkin. When organizing my recipes yesterday I almost made a tab just for pumpkin.

These weren't as good as the orange poppy seed scones, but I think it has less to do with the recipe and more to do with their size. They were a little dry, which I'm attributing to the size of the scones. I reduced the baking time by about a third, but another minute less probably would have been perfect. They got good reviews from work though, so pumpkin stays in my scone file. I also made an ad hoc glaze with some of my home-made coffee liqueur. Not too sweet and the coffee flavor went perfectly with the pumpkin.
